Supplier Quality Engineer, Mechanical
About the company
We exist to make humanity more free. Technology has historically given people more time for the things they want to do, instead of things they have to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built—but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them—with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
About the team
The Supply Chain Team is working on key problems such as:
- Supplying compute at a scale of 10s to 100s of GWs, the largest build-out of compute in history.
- Qualifying and dual-sourcing across every critical equipment category, with lead-time and capacity thresholds tied directly to the forward build pipeline.
- Ensuring supply chain enables faster builds than anyone else. Our modular build redefines speed in this industry, and it lives or dies on supply chain.
- Keeping procurement permanently off the critical path so schedule compression stays our advantage, not our constraint.
- Building the most accurate supply chain prediction modeling that exists, using AI to forecast lead times, demand, and disruption with unprecedented precision.
Responsibilities
- Own supplier quality for mechanical equipment: CDUs, chillers, pumps, and piping packages from qualification through delivery.
- Run supplier audits and production readiness reviews before award, and source inspections before anything ships.
- Set the inspection and test plans suppliers build to, including factory acceptance test witness points.
- Drive root cause and corrective action on quality escapes, and verify the fix at the supplier floor, not on paper.
Requirements
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
- Experience in supplier quality for mechanical or HVAC equipment manufacturers, on their floors.
- Experience witnessing factory acceptance tests and failing one when it deserved to fail.
- Ability to write inspection plans from drawings and specs, not from templates.
- Corrective actions that close with evidence, and rare repeat escapes from your suppliers.
- Bonus: Experience with liquid cooling equipment, ASME and ISO quality systems, welding and brazing inspection, or PPAP/APQP.

Compensation range: $155K - $199K
