This role partners closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Purchasing, New Product Development (NPD), and suppliers to drive quality performance across new and existing products.
Responsibilities
- Utilize a production part approval/acceptance process and develop criteria and documentation, including supplier inspection procedures and VCC incoming quality validation procedures.
- Maintain appropriate quality performance metrics (quality and process compliance reports) and drive resolution of issues, including CAPA.
- Implement and manage a rejected product process at supplier facilities.
- Work directly with suppliers to significantly improve overall part quality.
- Drive improvements to the supplier’s quality system, manage root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Initiate projects to reduce incoming inspections and enable dock-to-stock of incoming material.
- Support new product launches to ensure suppliers are capable of delivering to required quality standards.
- Work with the quality engineer to communicate requirements from NPD, such as FAI, capability studies, and PPAP.
- Create programs on measurement systems to aid inspection of NPD and production parts.
- Perform new supplier audits.
- Analyze defective product to communicate failure modes and root causes clearly to suppliers.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and resolve problems.
- Demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules while being present in the workplace.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a quality role, preferably in supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with supplier corrective actions (CARs), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, and Six Sigma/DMAIC.
- Experience supporting supplier audits, PPAP, and New Product Introduction (NPI) activities preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Proficiency with measurement and inspection equipment; Keyence XM experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Pay
Compensation Range: $66,000 - $70,000. Compensation is based on individual factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work location.
