Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring that all components and materials sourced from suppliers meet the high standards set by Progress Rail Services Corporation, a Caterpillar company. This individual will be responsible for evaluating supplier performance, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining quality control throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to improve product quality
• Implement corrective actions to address non-conformities in supplier products
• Maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and enhance supplier relationships
• Develop and maintain documentation related to supplier evaluations and quality control procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance or supplier management
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management systems
• Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and tools
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
• Knowledge of material testing and inspection techniques

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
