About the role
The Supplier Quality Engineer III works under limited supervision, responsible for performing a variety of duties efficiently with high-quality results. The Supplier Quality Engineer will be expected to perform duties as Supplier Quality Engineer and Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Works under limited supervision to complete tasks in an efficient timeframe with high quality.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain government security clearance.
- Expected to be able to obtain DOD clearance in a reasonable amount of time after being hired.
- Reads and conducts a peer review of new contracts from a quality/compliance standpoint.
- Reviews the flow down of customer's coded notes/standard clauses, that speak to quality requirements.
- Compiles order control folders to collect required documentation for (lot/heat, NDE and Inspection) certification document retention requirements.
- Verifies material certificates of conformance are provided and accurate.
- Scans and files certificates of conformance on the network using approved file structure.
- Receives certificates of conformance and material certifications into database.
- Processes Quality Notifications for non-conforming material, working with Buyer and Planner to obtain replacement part and/or vendor debit.
- Detailed writing and issuing of Quality Non-Conformances, Including Root Cause - Corrective Action requests.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Works closely with engineering and assembly teams to troubleshoot problems, determine root cause, and create corrective and preventative actions.
- Conducts final inspection on all packages to ensure compliance with the customers' requirements.
- Processes SAP Warehouse Management and Inventory Management transactions accurately.
- Places material in storage location in accordance with SAP Warehouse Management location.
- Keeps an organized work area by performing various housekeeping and maintenance functions following 5S philosophies.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations, environmental regulating procedures and utilizes required safety equipment when appropriate.

- Participates in ISO 9001-2015 audits and any customer required audits.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or trade school degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in an ISO 9001-2015 manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Quality fields is preferred.
Core Competencies
- Working knowledge of computers, quality inspection, and inventory management.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to read and write English, and have basic math competencies including geometry.
- Must be able to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (including geometric tolerancing and dimensioning), 3D models, and assembly blueprints.
- Working knowledge of Government Contract requirements related to technical flow downs, including FAR / DFAR regulations and other standard clauses and coded notes.
- Advance knowledge and understanding of Military Quality / Manufacturing Specifications and Navy Technical Publications including those for Weld and Non-Destructive Testing.
