Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer will bridge technical requests with supplier capabilities to ensure gap closure. This role involves collaborating with critical, strategic, and high-potential suppliers to improve their capabilities and competitiveness in cost, quality, time, and technology for mutual benefit.

Responsibilities

• Scan, screen, evaluate, and develop current and new suppliers according to the strategic plan and work plan.
• Collect the latest market technology information and apply it to company needs.
• Serve as the bridge between the technical department and quality team for new material sampling and qualification.
• Track supplier quality performance and organize quality reviews to drive improvement.
• Monitor and improve supplier, supply chain, and value stream performance, mitigating risks associated with new and existing suppliers globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of procurement experience in Quality, with at least 2 years working directly with suppliers.
• Experience in the solar, renewable energy, or manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
• Commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
• Understanding of basic quality characteristics and requirements (solar experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with quality practices and standards.
• Proficiency in computer and office software (e.g., Excel).
• Strong presentation skills.
• Domestic and occasional international travel may be required for supplier visits and industry events.
