Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Specifies inspection equipment, devices, tools and methods based on TRD, FMEA, drawings, and Inspection Planning Packages.
- Trains and directs team members in proper use of equipment.
- Supports Quality Technicians as needed.
- Assigns or recommends sampling rates, tools, and techniques for inspection procedures and planning packages.
- Organizes first article process and ensures appropriate inspection techniques are available for CTQs.
- Plans, organizes, and reviews new part/supplier/tool qualifications.
- Performs RCCM on products or processes not meeting expectations.
- Issues and mentors closing of SCARs when errors, failures, or out of control conditions occur.
- Collaborates with suppliers to establish, implement, maintain, and audit supplier control plans on key components to minimize risk of supplier failures.
- Prepares reports and presentations as needed for customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Facilitates supplier RCCM when supplier team is not capable to implement.
- Manages the ISO System.
- Led CAR reviews and ISO audits.
- Prepares the audit team and the internal audit schedule.
- Manages the internal ISO documented quality system (ISO-DQS).
- Works closely with purchasing, QEs, and engineering to resolve drawing errors, plan for First Article and Pilot processes.
- Supports and trains production personnel on new product test processes during pilot and 1st production run.
- Completes Role Standard Work and deliver all other duties as assigned.
Key Performance Factors
- Improvement of Scrap, RTY, and In Process Rejection rates.
- Improvement of customer quality (justified complaint rate).
- 3M5->M6 execution on time to plan.
- First Article age and acceptance rate.
- MRB age and supplier quality metrics (Q Score, PPM, etc).
- Dock to Stock (Cell) attainment.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of GD&T standards.
- Excellent computer skills and data analysis/data mining capability.
- Excellent understanding of Quality Engineering Statistics and has the ability to use this to leverage quality performance.
- Working knowledge of AIAG definitions and practices for FMEA, MSA, Cp, CpK and SPC. Knows how to apply each in practice.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent demonstration.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) of Engineering from four-year college or university.
- Three to five years of related quality engineering experience.

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

- The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range
$75,000/yr - $110,000/yr
