Job Responsibilities
- Works with suppliers to monitor the effectiveness of their Quality Management System.
- Pairs with key stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to continuously improve supplier performance.
- Drives major Quality improvement projects across functions with minimal supervision.
- Ensures all aspects of delivered/finished articles comply with approved quality system requirements and are certified as compliant to contractual requirements.
- Manages compliance of supplier performance through the application of system, product, and process audits.
- Certifies a supplier or assesses supplier quality system, personnel, processes, and equipment as required to applicable quality standards.
- Coordinates quality assurance program plans, monitors, and executes audit schedules, evaluates acceptance test programs, and quality engineering requirements of Eaton suppliers.
- Identifies opportunities for process and product improvements.
- Responsible for driving the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process for assigned Suppliers.
- Leads quality focus meetings to address supplier performance and communicate progress to senior leadership.
- Communicates highly complicated process or issues concisely to drive collaboration and corrective action.
- Promotes the use of continuous improvement techniques and Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) principles at Suppliers to help them reduce variability and achieve process control.
- Improves product quality by ensuring proper inspection and drawing requirements are communicated, understood, and deliverable.
- Utilizes supplier quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Participates in floor stand-up meetings to gain first-hand knowledge of supplier issues and their impact on manufacturing.
- Timely investigates supplier quality issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution OR Equivalent Military Experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic Qualifications: Knowledge of AS9100, APQP, CAPA, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Experience with Aerospace Suppliers, Experience with Special Process Suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting, Non-destructive Testing), Certified AS9100 Auditor.
- Preferred Qualifications: 3 years quality or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with a basic knowledge of blueprint reading, statistical methods, problem solving, industry quality standards and continuous improvement tools.
