Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

The Supplier Quality Engineer supports the automotive product lines at the Arens Control site in Arlington Heights, IL. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with supplier selection and audits
• Supporting design and manufacturing for new product development
• Conducting root cause analysis of component failures
• Assisting with analysis of reports and production data
• Providing recommendations on quality standards and procedures

Responsibilities

As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:

• Demonstrate knowledge of AIAG quality core tools, with an emphasis on APQP/PPAP
• Lead cross-functional teams in RCA (root cause analysis)
• Use problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone diagram, 5-why
• Manage multiple projects/activities and drive corrective actions
• Monitor supplier performance and function as a lead auditor
• Manage ERP systems

Requirements

Qualifications and experience required:

• High School Diploma required, Engineering degree preferred
• ASQ CSSBB a plus
• 2-3 years of applicable experience in Quality Engineering with exposure to electrical/electronic products
• Experience within an IATF certified environment preferred
• VDA experience a plus

Qualifications

Additional requirements:

Skills

Skills needed:

• Technical knowledge and hand-on experience using various measurements equipment (CMM, OGP, Comparator, Faro Arm etc)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to measure and monitor supplier performance including PPM levels
• Ability to function as a lead auditor to evaluate high risk suppliers and drive corrective actions
