Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Summary
As a supplier quality engineer at Clark, this position oversees products sourced from the global supply chain to meet internal and external quality and safety standards. The role involves leading supplier development initiatives, managing escalated quality matters, and serving as the primary technical liaison between quality, merchant, and operations teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a supplier quality management strategy aligned with the organization's quality and safety expectations.
- Support definition of quality standards, inspection criteria, and benchmarks for assigned durable and non-durable goods.
- Execute product launches with excellence through validation of supplier readiness, quality control plans, and change control.
- Plan and/or conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate manufacturing capability, processes, quality systems, and potential risks.
- Maintain documentation around audit findings, corrective actions, and remediation timing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sourcing and merchant teams, to evaluate and qualify new suppliers based on technical capability, quality history, and compliance.
- Track and analyze product and supplier performance metrics, including first pass yield, field defect rates, production non-conformances, customer complaints, star ratings, and warranty repairs.
- Investigate escalated product concerns and work with cross-functional internal teams to diagnose product defects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated supplier quality concerns.
- Drive accountability with suppliers through implementation of robust corrective/preventative action and verification plans.
- Identify systemic concerns and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve supplier quality and reliability.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs.
Work Environment
May require travel to other facilities internationally and domestically (25%).
Qualifications
- Experience:
- A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience, with increasing responsibilities, in a global supply chain.
- Strong experience in international supplier quality development in a durable consumer products or appliances industry.
- PREFERRED: ASQ certification
- Education:
- Desired Traits & Skills:
- Strong comprehension and use of quality tools: APQP, PPAP, various Root Cause Analysis methods, and process capability, and statistical analysis methods.
- Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
- Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations.
