About the role

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers consistently meet customer contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and AS9100 quality management requirements. This role serves as a crucial liaison between our organization and the supply base, driving supplier compliance, quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
  • Define and implement supplier quality requirements.
  • Verify purchased materials and components.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance assessments.
  • Oversee nonconformance and corrective action processes.
  • Support supplier development efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality and management processes in compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Partner with suppliers to drive compliance, improve performance, and ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and technical requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and performance reviews to evaluate capability, identify risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform source inspections, product verification activities, and process surveillance at supplier facilities and internal locations.
  • Establish, monitor, and report supplier performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Essential Skills

  • Supplier quality management.
  • Quality engineering and assurance.
  • Knowledge of PPAP, Root cause analysis, and CAPA.
  • Experience with AS9100 quality management systems and NADCAP.
  • Proficiency in AS9102, ISO 9001, RCCA, 5Y, and 8D methodologies.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer within Aerospace and Defense.
  • Ability to plan, perform analysis, report results, and mitigate risk regarding quality requirements, product & process assessments/audits, and performance trends for products and services.
  • Experience with verification of purchased products and auditing.
  • Experience with developing procedures and work instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Cost Point (ERP System).
  • Quality control, inspection, and validation skills.

Work Environment

The candidate will be working in a shop/office environment, assisting and helping engineers, technicians, and leaders. The position initially is for a 6-month contract, with potential for full-time employment if the candidate demonstrates exceptional performance.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $81.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
