The Supplier Quality Control Manager ensures conformity of purchased equipment with purchase orders, associated rules, codes, and specifications while managing risk to meet Air Liquide’s quality expectations and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the execution of Supplier Quality Control (SQC) activities on projects.
- Establishes and manages SQC strategy, including Project Expediting & Inspection Plan (PEIP) document management, SQC manhours and cost evaluation, and proposal/PEIP/PIM (Preliminary Inspection Meeting) support.
- Performs inspections based on approved strategy, including CTQ parameters.
- Guarantees conformity of purchased equipment.
- Acts as the primary contact for US inspection assignments on behalf of all E&C centers globally.
- Coordinates and leads SQC activities by collaborating with third-party agencies and peers in E&C Centers.
- Supports projects with manufacturing, control, and certification issues.
- Participates in the improvement of processes, standards, and capitalization.
- Coordinates with inspection resources (agencies, internal resources, etc.).
- Travel expectations: Domestic and international travel roughly 30-40% of the time, or based on project needs, including short notice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience (preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of Quality Control experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, project execution, and the industrial gas industry (mechanics, boilermaking).
- Preferred certifications: API 510, 570, 653, and AWS CWI.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of US Construction Codes (ASME, API, AWS, AISC, IBC, etc.).
- Proficient in fabrication processes, non-destructive examination, materials, welding, and industrial gas equipment.
- Practicing knowledge of US statutory and regulatory rules.
- Fluent in English.
- Mastery of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Google Drive).
- Practicing knowledge of tools (SAP, SRM, Non-Conformities Management).
