About the role
The Supplier Quality Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring that Nutrabolt's co manufacturing and warehousing partners meet all regulatory, quality, and company standards. This position supports the evaluation of new and existing partners, coordinates audits, provides quality oversight, and assists with various regulatory and compliance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and existing partners by organizing required documentation and ensuring records align with cGMP, FSMA, HACCP, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate, schedule, and track supplier qualification, surveillance, and requalification audits.
- Provide onsite quality oversight and/or support during audits, pilot runs, and initial production activities as required.
- Prepare and issue audit reports; manage follow-up actions; and maintain CAPA records within designated quality systems.
- Maintain accurate and current supplier profiles, audit files, and approved supplier lists within the Quality Management System.
- Assist in the lifecycle management of approved suppliers by updating risk assessments, monitoring performance, maintaining documentation, and tracking recertification schedules.
- Partner with internal teams to address supplier non-conformances through investigation, corrective, and preventive action (ECAR) processes.
- Support licensing partner programs by organizing required submissions, maintaining approval documentation, and coordinating communication with licensors.
- Aid co-manufacturers with regulatory readiness by coordinating mock recalls, organizing traceability documentation, and preparing records for review.
- Respond to internal stakeholder requests by completing customer questionnaires, maintaining portals, and preparing required documentation.
- Represent the Quality department in cross-functional projects related to supplier performance and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a dynamic project portfolio by maintaining project trackers, prioritizing tasks, and supporting processes to meet deadlines.
- Analyze product data and collaborate with Contract Manufacturers to investigate and troubleshoot out of specification results, track deviations, and drive reduction efforts.
- Prepare and maintain performance metrics dashboards to assess program effectiveness, quality adherence, and improvement activities.
- Participate in projects as assigned, acting as a contact with other departments and communicating regularly with direct management regarding status and timeline.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience performing quality or compliance audits in a cGMP-regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of 21 CFR Parts 111 and 117, including FSMA requirements.
- Familiarity with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked standards such as SQF, BRCGS, or FSSC 22000.
- ASQ (CQA, CQE, CQM), PCQI, or HACCP certification preferred.
- Excellent written, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple audits/projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Independent, detail-driven, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Effective collaborator across diverse teams and external partners.
- Experience in powdered, pill, or carbonated beverage manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications
- BS in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or related field).
- 1-3 years of experience in quality or compliance audits.
- Knowledge of cGMP, FSMA, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
- ASQ certifications preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience in food manufacturing or related fields.
- Travel ability up to 50%.
Skills
- Understanding of NSF certification and Certification for Sport regulations.
- Knowledge of GFSI benchmarked standards (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000).
- Experience with cGMP, FSMA, HACCP, and other relevant regulations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and auditing.
