About the role
This role supports Operational Leads and Supplier Management Specialists with projects, reporting, and additional tasks including KPI reporting, data processing in SAP, and other business-related activities. Interns will assist with running daily/weekly reports, updating and creating macros, data mining using data lake software, and visualization efforts through various business intelligence and data visualization platforms.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to process improvements as outlined in VPS department activities.
- Support Plant Runout activities, including data visualization and creation of files/macros to facilitate inventory purchases from BMW process partners.
- Create reports, charts, and presentations using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).
- Assist in managing, tracking, and KPI monitoring of transportation service providers for domestic and international routes.
- Support the launching and onboarding of new supplier process alignment with Central Competence.
- Participate in BMW’s supply chain through material planning and supplier management.
- Demonstrate teamwork, self-initiative, proactivity, assertiveness, and strong communication skills, including collaboration and networking.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours/week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
- Must attach a copy of an unofficial transcript.
- Must complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
Qualifications
- Preferred degrees: Business, International Business, Marketing, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of the automotive industry and project management.
- Proficiency in creating reports, charts, and presentations using Office tools.
- Strong ability to work well in a team environment.
