On The Engineering Team At TouchTunes, your work matters! We are embarking on a new era in our dartboard product line by adding to the engineering team based in our brand-new facility in Loves Park, Illinois. The Supplier Development Engineer role is the technical bridge between Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and suppliers for the assembly of our soft-tip dart boards. The role will provide a strong technical and quality depth around supplier selection, supplier development, cost reduction, and production readiness. This person will partner with internal Supply Chain and Operations team and outside suppliers, to improve supplier performance, support sourcing decisions, reduce risk and drive corrective action when supplier issues impact production. This is a highly collaborative role will sit at the intersection of sourcing, supplier quality, and manufacturing ability to ensure successful execution across the supply chain.

About the role

The Supplier Development Engineer role is responsible for leading technical supplier evaluation and selection, and supporting sourcing decisions for mechanical, electrical, fabricated, and outsourced components and services. They will assess supplier capability, capacity, process maturity, and manufacturing risk to approve readiness for supplier award, transition, and dual-source implementation. They will drive supplier development plans focused on improving capability, quality, delivery, cost, and long-term scalability. They will own supplier readiness for production, including PPAP/APQP-style activities, first article validation, process qualification, and launch readiness. They will own technical execution of supplier-side changes, ensuring engineering changes, part transitions, and process updates are correctly implemented, controlled, and validated without introducing production risk. They will engage directly with suppliers to resolve capability and process gaps, supporting root cause analysis, process improvements, and sustained resolution of technical issues.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in supplier development, supplier quality, sourcing engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a similar cross-functional role
  • Experience working with suppliers on machined parts, fabricated assemblies, electromechanical products, or contract manufacturing
  • Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, tolerances, process controls, and manufacturing methods
  • Strong working knowledge of quality and industrialization tools such as: 8D / CAPA, FMEA, control plans, first article / validation methods, process capability concepts
