Responsibilities
- Perform supply ordering, record keeping, management, and distribution in support of a Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) program to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.
- Plan and manage the day-to-day functions and programs of the section in support of HAZMAT and CHRIMP programs.
- Develop work methods, techniques, and local operating procedures for receipt, custody, stowage, distribution, retail stock, and customer-owned Hazardous Materials (HM), which have special distribution and storage requirements.
- Conduct HM supply program planning and budgeting for supply and related operations.
- Determine and program short- and long-range HM inventory management requirements.
- Determine funding priorities for the CHRIMP and ECAP programs for SUBASE NLON and Newport, RI, including formulating long-range budget forecasts of HM requirements.
- Initiate requests for reprogramming of budgeted HM funds.
- Assist customer commands throughout the Northern Mid-Atlantic region with similar functions.
- Ensure all functions are managed in an environmentally acceptable manner, adhering to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Direct corrective action or recommend investments to mitigate non-compliant operations.
Requirements
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:
- Performing supply ordering, record keeping, management, and distribution in support of a Hazardous Materials program to ensure proper safety rules and regulation compliance.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
