Duties And Responsibilities
- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
- Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Maintain store appearance.
- Sales:
- Cross-selling products and knowing layout of the store.
- Make suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customer's individual needs.
- Upselling products.
- Leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge, features, and specs.
- Using a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to the customer.
- Inventory:
- Be the keeper of merchandise.
- Complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- May participate in periodic inventories.
- Responsible for the security of cash, fixed assets, and merchandise inventory.
- Provide direction on assignments, including prioritizing projects, tasks, managing merchandise, and inventory.
Qualifications
- Product Knowledge: Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Experience: 1-2 years of retail or relevant work experience required, 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including reading, writing, and interpreting instructional documents.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios; must be able to make change in American monetary units.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business; ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision; ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win-win situations.
