SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST/OCEANOGRAPHER
About the role
The role involves supervising and directing the work of employees, planning and organizing projects, evaluating performance, and managing budgets.
Responsibilities
- Collect and process acoustic data pertaining to an ocean environment.
- Assess and review performance objectives and provide feedback to personnel.
- Direct or plan the work of others to ensure goals or objectives are met.
- Evaluate scientific work performed by junior scientists for technical accuracy.
- Analyze resource limitations to stay within budget allocations.
- Present scientific findings, problems, and solutions to leadership.
Requirements
Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
Qualifications
Specialized experience must demonstrate:
- Experience collecting and processing acoustic data as it pertains to an ocean environment.
- Experience assessing and reviewing performance objectives and providing feedback to personnel.

Eligibility
To be considered, eligible candidates must meet the basic requirements and demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
