Supervisory International Trade Analyst

About the role

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Trade Policy & Programs, located in Arlington, VA. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Office of Trade, will allow you to utilize your expertise in trade analysis to develop strategic approaches, innovations, and procedures to effectively implement trade policies and programs which affect critical and complex trade activities.

Responsibilities

• Supervising staff and assignment of work based on priorities and employee strengths in trade program development and management, post release processes and automation initiatives.
• Overseeing trade programs and operations, providing leadership and guidance on trade facilitation, enforcement, and compliance issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Planning, developing, and monitoring risk-based programs across assigned divisions, maintaining close coordination with DHS and CBP leadership, industry representatives, and foreign officials.
• Meeting with regional and national trade representatives, industry stakeholders, PGAs, and other internal and external stakeholders to build partnerships while developing and fostering partnership programs and the development and implementation of industry specific outreach and training.
• Monitoring annual priorities and progress of trade programs, offering field guidance on trade program implementation, developing trade program recommendations, drafting regulatory language and overseeing contract activities to ensure enforcement of trade priorities.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Managing and assessing deliverables to ensure individual program needs are met and in compliance with trade policy in areas such as Revenue, Broker Enforcement, AD/CVD, Import Safety, Intellectual Property Rights, Trade Agreements and Textiles.
• Serving as a program lead and representing program priorities at agency, inter-agency, and stakeholder events when requested.
• Recommending and implementing solutions to current and anticipated challenges related to the development of policies, procedures, and trade special operations that support the enforcement of trade laws.
• Evaluating and considering the impact of changes in legislative and federal regulatory requirements on long-range goals and objectives.
• Preparing and delivering clear concise and accurate written and verbal communications to senior leadership and stakeholders at a variety of levels.

Pay

This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area.
