About the Role

You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the Contracting Department of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Responsibilities

  • Apply mastery knowledge of contracting advisory services to ensure regulations and requirements are met.
  • Utilize knowledge of Federal, DOD, and DON contracting laws, regulations, principles, procedures, contracts, and provisions to provide guidance and leadership to Contract Specialists and other subordinate personnel.
  • Use knowledge of methods of contracting applicable to the acquisition of supplies, personal, and non-personal services to develop acquisition solutions.
  • Manage multiple contracting projects to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
  • Analyze existing policies and procedures to develop and implement improvements.
  • Communicate orally and in writing to collaborate across organizations to reach concurrence on processes, projects, and desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Must meet Department of Defense qualification requirements for 1102 contracting positions: DoD Qualification Standard for GS-1102.
  • Must meet Title 10 requirements: Title 10 U.S. Code § 1724.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
