About the role
This position reports to the Operations Manager and will have direct reports. Up to 10% of global travel is expected.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the daily production of Photovoltaic modules in accordance with work instructions and control plans.
- Performs Safety Walk and Talks, ensure team compliance with safety protocols, and implements best 5S practices.
- Leads shift huddles providing priorities and task assignment and publishes shift reports.
- Helps with safe execution of engineering tests.
- Logs Inventory levels and location.
- Maintains product inventory accuracy.
- Lead, manage and participate in continuous improvement activities/teams.
- Train and mentor Supervisor, associates.
- Responsible for controlling costs to maintain budget accuracy.
- Carefully coordinate and maintain records of on-the-job training and compliance training of manufacturing associates.
- Conduct performance appraisals.
- Identify training opportunities to develop and maintain a highly motivated and capable team.
- Effective use of internal manufacturing software for production tracking.
- Maintain accurate time keeping for manufacturing in ERP system.
- Utilize Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodology to maximize throughput.
- Effectively interfaces with other departments.
- Carefully coordinate and maintain records of on-the-job training and compliance training of manufacturing associates.
- Support efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations.
- Evaluate and monitor manufacturing processes ensuring cycle time is being met.
- Responsible for eliminating downtime constraints in assigned area (e.g.: find root cause and resolve the issue, effectively utilize support teams to improve quality and production).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year First Solar supervisory experience.
- Four (4) years supervisory experience in a manufacturing production setting, warehouse, textile, agricultural or material inspection capacity.
- Six (6) years supervisory experience + two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing production setting, warehouse, textile, agricultural or material inspection capacity.

Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Candidate must meet one (1) of the three (3) criteria below.
