About the Role

As our Sterile Processing Supervisor, you will provide 24-hour oversight and leadership for the Sterile Processing unit. This critical role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective sterilization, directly impacting patient safety and clinical operations. You will manage and lead the Sterile Processing team, allocating staff, equipment, and resources cost-effectively, and assist the manager with budget preparation, maintenance, and monitoring. You will also develop and maintain standards of care consistent with hospital policies and our Mission and Philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Assure that department policies, practices, and procedures conform to all appropriate regulations and standards.
  • Ensure that instrument trays and other items are properly decontaminated, assembled, and sterilized.
  • Assure timely delivery of sterilized items to customers.
  • Ensure that sterilization practices and equipment meet quality standards.
  • Investigate problems/concerns and develop and implement action plans to resolve.
  • Provide direct supervision for the Sterile Processing Department staff in a way that creates a positive work environment and ensures compliance with all organizational and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nursing, or comparable combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of full-time experience in a sterile processing department in an acute medical center, 1 year of which must have been at a supervisory level.
  • Certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Supervisor, Sterile Processing Distribution Technician, or Surgical Technologist.

Pay

$37.50 - $53.45 per hour
