Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices
- Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture
- Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment
- Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance
- Log, track and report work injuries by managing the OSHA Log
- Understand and know what steps to take and who to contact when responding
- Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities
- Ensure that the injured employee has been given the utmost attention including supporting documentation and consultation to help the employee return to work

Requirements
- Required Education / Experience: Bachelors Degree in Business or Risk Management. Or a combination of education and a minimum of 1-3 years of progressive safety experience. Experience in managing non-subscriber plans is preferred.
- Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications: Ability to build trust and confidence with management and supervision, Strategic thinking and leadership skills, Ability to communicate with employees at all levels, Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
