About the role

The Respiratory Therapist Supervisor at St Joseph Medical Center is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and evaluating respiratory therapy services in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves supervising staff, identifying process improvements, problem-solving, and overseeing the implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned staff in respiratory care activities, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations and meet quality and customer service standards.
  • Problem-solve and escalate issues to higher-level management.
  • Research and implement new technologies for respiratory care services.
  • Supervise respiratory therapist activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy upon hire.
  • Five years of related work experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare (Respiratory or Healthcare Administration) upon hire.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RESP-LIC:WA) license upon hire.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) certification upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of respiratory care principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and judgment in clinical settings.
  • Expertise in supervising and evaluating respiratory therapy staff.
  • Collaboration with higher-level management on significant changes in clinical standards.

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The posted compensation range for this position is $47.41 - $78.23 per hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit Health believes it might offer for this role based on current circumstances.

Schedule

The schedule is Day Shift, with 80 hours per week.
