Supervisor, Reimbursement Appeals and Follow-up

About the role
The Supervisor, Reimbursement Appeals and Follow-up provides exceptional support to Guardant Health customers, the Guardant Health Clinical Laboratory, Sales Representatives, and our billing vendor. This role requires professional and effective communication with external customers and internal personnel.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Reimbursement Patient Access Specialists.
- Conduct regular team and individual staff meetings.
- Approve timecards and time off requests.
- Ensure timely and accurate resolution of financial cases and patient outreach.
- Perform regular audits to verify data accuracy and insurance validity.
- Evaluate and update processes to align with sample volume and policy changes.
- Verify incoming requisitions for payment type and data accuracy, including insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid eligibility.
- Contact clients and patients to obtain or verify billing data and provide information on the Financial Assistance Program.
- Export data from LIMS and upload it into various applications for benefits eligibility and patient information.
- Document all phone calls and follow-up activities.
- Contact physicians and medical personnel to obtain missing billing information.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Reimbursement, Patient Pre-Billing, and FAP procedures.
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy of data entry.
- Field calls related to reimbursement and billing.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Clinical Science, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with employees, contractors, and managers.
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to handle various projects.
- Self-discipline, good judgment, and ability to work independently in a dynamic office setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with computer proficiency.
- Solid experience using Salesforce and Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility with working hours based on operational needs.
- Demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Schedule
Hybrid work model: Employees within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required to work onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. This model supports in-person collaboration and focused individual work time.
Pay
The annualized base salary ranges for this role are as follows:
- Primary Location (Remote - USA): $94,200 - $129,500
- Other US Locations: $80,070 - $110,075
- Colorado: $84,780 - $116,550
Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on factors including geography, experience, education, job-related skills, job duties, and business need.
