About the role

This position is a part of SAI Quality Department. Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising a team of QC Inspectors performing inspection and disposition activities for makeup products, components, WIPs, and finished goods in accordance with cGMP requirements, company policies, and established specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Supervise, assign, and prioritize daily work activities for QC Inspectors to support production schedules while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Ensure sampling, inspection, and disposition of Incoming Components, Finished Goods, and WIPs are performed in accordance with Product Specifications, Standards, and approved sampling plans (ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, ISO 2859, or company SOPs).
  • Oversee organoleptic evaluations of cosmetic products (color, odor, texture, appearance) and ensure proper comparison against approved Reference Standards.
  • Review, approve, and track Production Nonconforming Product Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely investigation, appropriate disposition, and documented root cause.
  • Review and approve Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA), ensuring actions are effective, implemented as committed, and sustained.
  • Maintain, update, and control Reference Standards, Defect Range Boards, and inspection aids.
  • Monitor and analyze quality trends, inspection data, defect rates, and recurring issues; escalate concerns and recommend improvements.
  • Track, analyze, and report QC Inspector productivity, performance, and adherence to inspection targets and KPIs.
  • Train, coach, and develop QC Inspectors on inspection methodologies, defect identification, sampling techniques, documentation practices, and proper use of inspection and test equipment.
  • Ensure inspection documentation, data entry, and records are accurate, complete, and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain QC areas in accordance with 6S standards and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, technical certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Control environment preferably in cosmetics, personal care, pharma or food packaging industry with exposure to FDA and cGMP regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP requirements and variable inspections, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or ISO 2859 sampling methods.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic math calculations and use of standard measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Distinguish color and identify cosmetic defects.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) including data analysis and reporting.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Stand, walk, and lift to 40 pounds as required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and address quality issues effectively.
