About the role

Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently achieved. Lead, motivate, and manage production teams, coordinate workflow, and collaborate with quality, maintenance, and planning departments to optimize efficiency and resolve operational issues. Drive continuous improvement, enforce compliance with company policies, and foster a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure associates work safely, perform acceptable quality and quantity of work, and continually improve the manufacturing process while maintaining cost targets through planning, leading, and supervision.
  • Maintain efficient, clean, and orderly operation of the assigned manufacturing area in accordance with established goals and objectives.
  • Comply with and enforce all policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Troubleshoot and improve various manufacturing-related problems and communicate shift/machine issues with other shifts.
  • Ensure all manufacturing standards and methods are followed by employees and are reviewed and up-to-date.
  • Ensure all production data is reported properly and timely to appropriate staff.
  • Work on assigned continuous improvement projects and cost-reduction activities.
  • Train and develop line leads.
  • Check, enter, and approve information in the payroll system; compile and review production reports.
  • Track and report relevant metrics.
  • Manage work orders and relevant completion dates once received on the production floor.
  • Temporarily perform lead functions when attendance affects production builds.
  • Act as a liaison between management and operators, conveying customer expectations.
  • Perform on-the-job training and complete records for all new or transferred employees.
  • Assist with inventory or labeling as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to speak and write English and/or Spanish proficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and thoughtful approach to problem-solving that inspires confidence.
  • Ability to handle a variety of changing situations under stress.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, for scheduling and data management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate employee participation, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to build rapport with all employees.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Availability to work all shifts.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel; experience with ERP systems and GP is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend, and/or squat for 10+ hours in a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25-50 lbs at a time.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, including looking at screens for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment.
