Supervisor, Pressing & Finishing
Position Overview
MP Materials is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team in transforming raw materials into finished rare earth magnets in a new manufacturing facility. This role offers an early role in restoring a critical manufacturing capability to the USA.
Position Responsibilities
- Schedule and manage work of manufacturing operators to ensure on-time completion of each step of the operation.
- Focus on managing the production of MP’s Pressing & Finishing operations including Pressing, Sintering, Machining, Passivation and Cleaning, Packaging, and Inspection.
- Maintain labor efficiencies and redeploy labor as needed to meet the production schedule.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure product yields and quality standards are met.
- Manage operational performance against established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and track other leading metrics.
- Partner with Production Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to identify improvement opportunities, investigate process deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement projects (CIP) such as Kaizens.
Basic Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing and training operators.
- Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience in Quality Systems ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949.
- Hands-on approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Computer literate.
Desired Qualities
- Fluency in Spanish.
- 5S and Kaizen implementation experience.
- ERP experience.
