Essential Functions
- Supervises, supports, schedules, and monitors personnel monitoring and securing parks and public spaces within the City;
- Determines and implements schedules and delegates work;
- Maintains and reviews maintenance activities, reviews security breaches and incidents, and processes payroll.
Additional Functions
- Participates in special events, neighborhood meetings, and other meetings as requested;
- Solves personnel issues, provides performance feedback, and gives technical and professional direction;
- Develops and implements departmental and security personnel goals and objectives;
- Communicates, trains, and educates staff on applicable policies and procedures;
- Drafts and creates reports based on weekly and monthly activities and actions;
- Addresses operational deficiencies, misrepresentations, and other security issues;
- Supervises staff use of resources;
- Ensures facilities and equipment are maintained per regulations and standards;
- Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of Parks Department;
- Knowledge of City ordinances and regulations related to parks;
- Knowledge of citation issuances and authority;
- Knowledge of personnel supervision, support, and feedback;
- Ability to monitor parks operations and security through subordinate staff and park rangers;
- Ability to apply and translate City ordinances, park rules, and PKR policies;
- Ability to facilitate and develop budget and maintain accounting standards and ledgers;
- Ability to provide customer service;
- Ability to draft activity reports;
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience
- 5 years of administrative experience including work in parks and recreation with at least 1 years of lead experience.
Licenses and Certifications
- A valid State of Texas driver's license.
Education
- A High School Diploma, GED.
