Supervisor on Special Assignment
Anticipated vacancies currently exist for temporary Supervisors on Assignment within the Division of Student Services of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. These positions are subject to renewal from the requesting district, with the exact length of assignment to be determined. Extensions are possible but not guaranteed. Positions will be located within Chester County and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership with the contracting LEA/district in the area of special education supervisory services.
- Offer leadership in special education staffing and programming.
- Serve as an extensive liaison with varied education-based agencies at the state and local level.
- Build competency in special education supervisory responsibilities.
- Flexibly meet the major areas of need for contracting LEAs, districts, charters, and other educational agencies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- PA Supervisor of Special Education or Principal certification required, or current enrollment in a program to obtain either certification.
- Willingness to become emergency certified as a Supervisor if certification is not yet obtained.
- PA Special Education Teacher Certification PK-12 required.
- Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines regarding special education.
- Technical experience in federal and state special education law, staff development, supervision and leadership, state and federal budget development and management, curriculum and assessment, and interagency collaboration.
- Previous experience working as a supervisor preferred.
Pay
Salary Range for 2026-2027: Administrator, Level F: $122,635 – $153,294 per year. Placement on the band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.
