Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds (HELP) - Cortland County Department of Public Works

About the role

The work involves responsibility for supervising the custodial and maintenance activities of county buildings and grounds. Although certain activities are performed in the office, the incumbent inspects worksites and various county properties on a routine basis. Work is performed in accordance with general policies and under the administrative direction of the Commissioner of Public Works or designee. The incumbent formulates custodial and maintenance policy with guidance from the Public Works Department administration, and has leeway for the use of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over custodial and maintenance staff. Does work as required.

$65,417-87,070/YR. (Management Compensation Plan)

Minimum qualifications

Either:

• Possession of an Associate's degree or higher in electrical, engineering, building or construction technology and three (3) years of supervisory experience in building maintenance and repair activities; OR
• Possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience in building maintenance and repair activities, with three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR
• An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).
