Supervisor - Microbiology/Hematology Southaven, Mississippi

About the role

The position is a limited-tenure role designed to support the formation, launch, and stabilization of a new company and laboratory. It is expected to transition to a permanent infrastructure position within a separate company operating independently from Mayo Clinic Laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Work 100% on-site in Southaven, Mississippi
• Manage and develop staff
• Oversee quality and service, regulatory compliance, work unit safety, strategic planning, document management, and financial management
• Develop and implement new services
• Work cooperatively with a wide variety of customers and internal/external resources
• Complete special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory science, or medical technology, plus 6 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience
• OR Bachelor's degree plus MLS or MT certificate, plus 6 years of clinical laboratory experience
• OR Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biological science, plus 7 years of clinical laboratory experience
• OR Master's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, plus 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently
• Human relations skills to influence and motivate others
• ASCP certification or other pertinent laboratory field certification may be required
