About the Role
Supervises and coordinates the imaging operations and technologists and their daily activities for one modality, ensuring assignments are completed and maintaining quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Promotes Imaging Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
- Leads the activities of assigned Imaging Services team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Prioritizes, schedules, assigns, and monitors work to optimize operational performance; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
- Organizes and guides staff toward service line/department goals.
- Analyzes, recommends, implements, and monitors approved workflow changes.
- Maintains staff credentials and continuing education credits.
- Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH; ensures staff adherence to Quality and Infection Control guidelines and equipment maintenance according to state and federal guidelines.
- Maintains related accreditation, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control standards within the modality.
- Troubleshoots mechanical equipment issues and ensures compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Schedules equipment maintenance and repair.
- Participates in developing and delivering training related to the modality.
- Participates in evaluating and implementing Performance Improvement-related practices.
- Functions as a technologist and responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
- Performs related duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasound Technology program.
- Current Radiology Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist License in New York State, and current ARRT registration required OR CNMT registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- OR Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required (no licensure requirement for ultrasound), plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 3-5 years of technical experience and 0-2 years of leadership experience.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- CT experience preferred.
Schedule
Shift is 4pm–12am.
