Supervisor I Particle Board/Lab Tech - multiple openings

Position Summary

Timber Products is seeking candidates for a Supervisor I/Lab Tech position at their Particleboard mill in Medford, OR. The role involves learning and assuming responsibilities as a quality control lab technician, as well as front-line leadership.

About the Role

This position covers both shift Quality Assurance and front-line supervision. It provides opportunities for progression to a Supervisor II position after completing training and demonstrating leadership skills and process knowledge. Shifts are available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct panel testing
• Participate in research and development projects
• Thickness control, moisture content, panel density profile, and equipment calibrations
• Identify and communicate process upsets
• Work in conjunction with supervisory personnel to learn all aspects of particleboard manufacturing process
• Maintain quality control standards to maximize company profitability
• Supervise production crews as assigned
• Cover supervisor vacations and vacancies as necessary
• Complete special projects as assigned
• Follow and ensure all employees follow company safety program and safety standards
• Consistently enforce all company policies and procedures
• Accurately interpret and apply the labor agreement

Requirements

• Two years of QA/supervisory experience in wood products or other manufacturing environments preferred, but not required
• A BS Degree in Wood Sciences, BS or AS in manufacturing or related field is preferred, but not required
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be a TEAM oriented player
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Leadership and motivational skills to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals
• Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Access
