Job Summary
Hybrid Work Environment - Must reside in Hawaii
Pay Range: $53,000 - $99,000, position is eligible for an incentive bonus
Note: Individuals typically begin between the minimum to middle of the pay range
About the Role
Manage staff who support HMSA's overall sales and retention strategies by providing external servicing of our employer groups and their employees with their health plan education needs and workplace well-being plans while optimizing selling opportunities during those interactions.
Responsibilities
- Develop goals and objectives for performance management program to ensure maximum performance of staff.
- Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring through the performance management process.
- Ensure staff remains committed and motivated to meet goals and objectives.
- Manage staff development activities.
- Prioritize multiple requests and proactively initiate initiatives based on the changing needs of the business, customer/member experience, to ensure unit's time is spent in the most productive manner.
- Reports progress on a weekly basis to Director, proposes potential solutions for issues, alternatives to mitigate potential problems, and provides adequate notice for future resource needs.
- Work collaboratively with Sales leadership to plan, lead, staff, coordinate and execute effective open enrollment presentations, employer well-being plans, member communication initiatives, Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions, health/benefit fairs at employer sites statewide, and training and seminar opportunities to drive awareness of HMSA's value proposition and increase membership.
- Handle member escalations as necessary.
- Strategically plan and employ multiple media strategies e.g., webinars, direct mail, email, social media/internet and exceptional selling skills to sell, promote, educate and implement HMSA and ancillary products and services to existing and potential members on the group specific plans offered, well-being programs, disease management and preventive care programs and other programs in accordance with the strategic marketing goals of HMSA.
- Drive productivity and team environment in cross-functional team of Strategic Account Manager (SAM)/Account Relationship Consultant/Account Relationship Specialist/Health Plan Advisor and Well-Being Manager.
- Staff will participate and take point on event planning to strategize and prioritize OE support as well as support tactical workplace well-being plans for specific employers.
- Staff will work closely with Manager, Well-Being programs to provide updates on employer health and well-being plans, training needs, and other related workplace well-being initiatives.
- Create, review, and QA; OE and well-being materials for content and appropriateness to particular group or audience.
- Lead the development of new presentations to support business objectives.
- Collaborate with CPO, Admin, COMM, and other departments to finalize and obtain materials from internal sources and distributes to groups in a timely manner.
- Manages internal and external customer relationships and participates in strategic planning and evaluation sessions with partner Business Teams.
- Develop/coordinate/conduct training for external audiences, including employer groups' Human Resource administrators and Group Leaders.
- Educate and advise them on group health plan benefits and provisions, HMSA health and well-being programs, enrollment, billing and payment policies and procedures, and health care regulations.
- Respond to group leaders' questions regarding these subjects, as well as general questions relating to HMSA.
- Actively participate in strategic initiatives as an AMS representative as assigned by AMS Leadership Team.
- Work with leadership and executives of other stakeholder departments to plan, obtain resources, execute, communicate and monitor the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of related experience.
- Five years of successful experience in a coaching, teaching, training, sales, retail, marketing or related experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Effective sales, negotiation, or persuasion skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a service-oriented attitude.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
- Active license with the state of Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or pass all four sections of the state licensing examination within three months of hire date.
- Having an active license to sell Health, Life and Group Insurance products in the state of Hawaii is a condition of employment.
- Must have valid driver's license, with access to an automobile with current registration and no fault insurance.
