Supervisor, Facilities - 2nd Shift

As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate and maintain some of the world’s most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Supervisor, you will lead the 2nd and 3rd shift technician team and be the extreme owner of all infrastructure work. The Facilities Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Hawthorne site. This position will help to ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image to customers, visitors, and VIPs. Our facility care is a direct reflection of our values and the impact is immense.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for performing inspections, testing, maintenance and repair of campus wide systems; including fire suppression systems (wet/dry sprinkler systems), backflow preventers, electrical panels as well as other preventative maintenance and repair programs covered by facilities operations
- Lead and direct a team of building structures, plumbing, compressed air, and electrical facility technicians
- Schedule daily work and prioritize assignments
- Develop, plan and execute site improvement projects in accordance with overall business objectives and strategy
- Know and understand all safety procedures of SpaceX in order to observe the work of contractors and bring safety concerns to their attention as needed. Report all unsafe acts and conditions which remain uncorrected to supervisor. Allow no work to be performed when conditions are considered unsafe
- Maintain appropriate records for all trades as required
- Know and understand electrical equipment such as: motor control centers, transformers, switchboards, controllers, electrical feeders, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment
- Communicate with Manager on daily activities, projects, team moral and concerning issues
- Manage vendor/contractor finances. Work with SpaceX buyers and AP to assure accounts are maintained
- Oversee team of facilities techs, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience with facilities management
