About the role

The Maintenance Engineer Supervisor at the InterContinental Indianapolis is responsible for overseeing general maintenance throughout the hotel. The position involves directing daily engineering needs, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for guests, maintaining preventative maintenance, coordinating with other departments, and overseeing repairs and refurbishment projects.

Responsibilities

• Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task
• Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
• Maintaining preventative maintenance and supplies whilst minimizing waste and meeting our green initiatives
• Being flexible to respond to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed
• Coinciding with other departments to minimize disruptions and support smooth hotel operations
• Overseeing repairs, replacements, and refurbishment projects
• Ensuring all interior and exterior areas remain safe, clean, and fully operational, proactively identifying issues before they impact guest

Requirements

• At least 2-3 years of maintenance or repair work under your belt
• A high school diploma or related vocational training
• A working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures
• A reasonable level of fitness as you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot
• Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to

Qualifications

Hotel experience is a plus

Building equipment and hand tools, basic plumbing, electrics, and preventative maintenance procedures
