Supervisor, Distribution

About the role

The 1st shift Supervisor at Apex Tool Group’s Apex, NC distribution center is responsible for daily activities within the DC, including safety, performance, and cost management. The supervisor works closely with on‑site leadership and collaborates with support functions such as customer service, engineering, and system design to deliver cost and service KPIs. The ideal candidate has prior supervisory experience in a high‑volume distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze workload and ensure staffing plan supports demand.
• Ensure the team is fully capable of performing all duties within a safe working environment.
• Drive a continuous improvement mindset within the facility and collaborate with central resources to improve process flow.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through effective audit activities and 5S initiatives.
• Lead and develop all direct reports and other individuals throughout the facility to ensure bench depth and a pipeline of talent for current and future needs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a supply chain or business‑related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of progressive leadership responsibility in a distribution environment.
• Track record of achieving growth and profitability targets, including cost reduction while increasing operational efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Effective delegation and accountability to lead others in delivering financial and service KPIs.
• Strong communication skills across various organizational levels.
• Ability to act as a change agent, inspiring others to adopt the company mission and vision.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
