About the role
Supervise, implement, and monitor programs, policies, and procedures in Safety, Hygiene, and Environment, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation. Strengthen a culture of prevention, operational discipline, and environmental responsibility aligned with the organization’s internal standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety, hygiene, and environmental inspections to identify risks, unsafe acts, and conditions.
- Implement and supervise preventive measures, procedures, and controls for high-risk work.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with NOM-STPS, NOM-SEMARNAT, and other applicable legal requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and FSSC 22000.
- Maintain updated records, permits, indicators, and regulatory reports for the area.
- Control waste management, water and energy consumption, and other environmental impact aspects.
- Coordinate cleaning, hygiene, and sanitation programs for facilities.
- Train staff and contractors on safety, environmental practices, PPE usage, and emergency response.
- Coordinate brigades, drills, safety committees, and civil protection activities.
- Manage the area’s budget and coordinate procurement of PPE, equipment, supplies, and specialized services.
- Generate performance indicators and promote continuous improvement actions to reduce risks and environmental impacts.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional title and license (desirable).
Experience
- Minimum of three years in similar roles within industrial plants or manufacturing companies.
- Experience supervising personnel, contractors, and high-risk work.
- Experience handling audits and inspections by authorities.
- Experience in the food industry (desirable).
Certifications (desirable)
- Internal auditor training for ISO 14001 or ISO 45001.
- Training in first aid, fire safety, evacuation, and search and rescue.
- Training in working at heights, confined spaces, electrical safety, and hot work.
- Certification or registration as an internal instructor (desirable).

- Hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Accident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Management of permits for hazardous work.
- Civil protection, brigades, and emergency response.
- Handling of chemical substances and hazardous waste.
- Operation and control of wastewater treatment plants.
- Development of indicators, technical reports, and compliance programs.
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and presentation tools.

Schedule
Monday to Saturday. Availability to attend emergencies, audits, or extraordinary activities as required by operations.
Location
Tapachula, Chiapas (on-site). Permanent contract.
