Supervisor - Commercial Tax Services (52199)

About the role

We are seeking a Supervisor in the Commercial Tax Services (CTS) Department to join our Chicago team.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews tax returns, extensions, and projections for various clients (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Individual)
• Applies knowledge of Federal and State tax law
• Performs tax research to resolve issues
• Maintains frequent contact with clients and handles day-to-day client relationship issues
• Effectively communicates engagement needs to the client and proactively ensures the Manager, Director, or Partner is apprised of any issues
• Trains, develops, and mentors junior staff
• Takes an active approach to building networks (internal and external) and participates in firm business development opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s in taxation preferred
• 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in a mid-size public accounting firm
• CPA preferred
• Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws – corporate, individual, and partnership taxation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client service skills
• Highly motivated and able to work individually and in team settings
• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills

Skills

• Knowledge of CCH Axcess, Sureprep, XCM, and Caseware is a plus
