About the Role
The coding supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and operational oversight of the medical coding team. This position ensures coding accuracy, quality, productivity, and compliance among the coding team while managing day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support medical coders, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor coding productivity, quality, and accuracy standards.
- Manage staff schedules, time-off requests, holiday coverage, and attendance to ensure adequate staffing levels and uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor employee attendance, approve leave requests, and coordinate workload distribution to maintain productivity and service level expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Surgical Abstracting Experience.
