Supervisor, Behavioral Health Case Management (BCBA)

About the role

This role supports the Autism Care Management team within HealthPartners. The ideal candidate must hold a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) certification and possess experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide case consultation and individual supervision sessions.
  • Review monthly management reports with Case Managers and Case Management Assistants.
  • Perform quality audits and reviews of Case Managers and Case Management Assistants' performance.
  • Focus on member-centered care, identifying interventions and resources to assist members in achieving their health goals.
  • Facilitate integration of patient care by encouraging effective communication between patients, families, providers, health plan, and community-based services.
  • Communicate regularly with patients, families, physicians, and the health care team to ensure high levels of member/patient/family/provider satisfaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with department and corporate policies.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and team members, and contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and diverse environment.
  • Participate in and contribute to appropriate departmental and/or organizational meetings.
  • Act as a liaison between internal customers, Marketing, Sales, Claims, and Member Services to resolve systems/process issues.
  • Participate in committees, task forces, projects, and quality improvement teams as needed and assigned.
  • Participate in the creation and updates of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans and tests.

Qualifications

  • Licensed in Minnesota as LICSW, RN, or Psychologist.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical practice experience and 3 years relevant utilization review, discharge planning, or case management experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical judgment and skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills with care team members.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of QI, UM, benefit plans fiscal management, and various payment methodologies.
  • Understanding of healthcare and/or HMO industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in effective use and management of automated medical management systems.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, organization, and appropriate decision-making under challenging situations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments within workload.
  • Ability to deal with change and ambiguity.
