Requirements

A prerequisite for employment as an Instructional Assistant is proof of passing the Instructional Assistant Proficiency Test for the Napa Valley Unified School District. Exceptions to taking the test are:

• Possession of a current California Teaching Credential
• Possession of an AA degree or higher
• At least 48 units
• Passing the CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test)

If you do not meet any of these requirements or have not already taken the test, you must do so prior to being employed. Please contact the Napa Valley Adult School at 707-253-3594 for the next test date.

Candidates who receive an offer of employment will be hired contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the following:

• Fingerprinting/background checks
• Verification of freedom from Tuberculosis
• Verification of I-9 Employment Eligibility
• Three letters of recommendation (two personal, non-relative, and one from a current or former supervisor)
• Resume

Pay

$17.00 per hour

Schedule

1.75 hours per day / 194 days per year
