About the role

The role is responsible for managing the city's public parks and ensuring they are maintained in a safe and attractive condition.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair park facilities including playgrounds, walking trails, and picnic areas.
  • Oversee landscaping and horticulture activities to ensure proper maintenance and growth of plants and trees.
  • Coordinate with community groups and volunteers to organize events and activities in the parks.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents within the parks, ensuring safety and security.

Requirements

  • A degree in parks and recreation management or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in park management or a similar field.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding public parks.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

Full benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Pay

$45,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
