About the role
MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Superintendent – Plumbing to oversee the physical construction of plumbing systems. This role involves collaborating with top talent, contributing innovative ideas, and making a difference in people’s lives through high-quality construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure plumbing systems are constructed according to contract documents, local & national building codes, and project-specific compliance requirements.
- Work with the Project Manager to document and maintain reports for delays, work-arounds, shutdowns, tie-ins, and other project details.
- Resolve disputes on job sites and lead and inspire the team.
- Maintain satisfactory relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders in a team environment.
- Ensure all MSS-related plumbing scope complies with applicable state/federal codes, quality standards, schedule, and budget.
- Manage and attend all plumbing inspections on assigned projects.
- Enforce MSS’s tool tracking program for plumbing projects and personnel.
- Forecast and manage labor and equipment needs for plumbing projects.
- Read and interpret complex plumbing blueprints and equipment installation manuals.
- Address job-related problems and propose solutions to the Project Team or Field Ops Manager.
- Track plumbing project progress and report to the Field Ops Manager and Project Managers weekly.
- Complete daily Job Hazard Analysis, supervise personnel sign-in, and verify time cost allocation for labor.
- Manage safety on assigned projects and assist the safety manager in maintaining a safe working environment.
- Coordinate daily plumbing job operations with project managers and manage subcontractors, vendors, and labor.
- Interview and select field staff for plumbing-related jobsites.
- Participate in project meetings to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct safety talks and maintain check-in sheets.
- Conduct performance reviews for employees on plumbing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the company.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the plumbing field, specifically with large-scale mechanical or plumbing projects.
- Subject matter expert in all plumbing state/local/federal construction codes and standards.
- OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Experience and proficiency in all phases of plumbing work, including methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
- Ability to work with a variety of plumbing tools and equipment.
- Experience in accessing, reading, and completing installations from BIM-coordinated projects.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical and communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Thorough understanding of maintaining complete sets of plumbing project documents, blueprints, revisions, and specifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing plumbing site logistics on tight urban sites.
Work Environment
Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity, atmospheric conditions, electrical shock hazards, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, and working in high-exposure areas.
