Superintendent (Multifamily Sector) - Southern, CA

About the role
VCC is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead ground-up multifamily projects from mobilization through completion. VCC is a nationally recognized, debt-free general contractor with projects in all 50 states and a history of ENR Top 100 rankings. Our Superintendents are empowered to lead safety, schedule, quality, and performance on every jobsite.
Responsibilities
- Enforce safety policies and build a culture of jobsite safety
- Drive schedule performance and coordinate subcontractors in proper sequence
- Plan construction procedures aligned with contract documents and specifications
- Lead weekly subcontractor meetings and manage 3-week look-ahead schedules
- Inspect work to ensure quality and specification adherence
- Collaborate with General Superintendents, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve construction methods
- Coordinate material delivery and expediting with the Project Engineer
- Obtain and monitor permits, inspections, and compliance requirements
- Review cost reports and process back charges per SOP
- Manage time and material approvals
- Maintain daily documentation: reports, punch lists, billing sheets, and jobsite records
You are the field leader ensuring the work is completed safely, correctly, on schedule, and within budget.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years supervising ground-up commercial construction with a general contractor
- Experience leading $20M+ multifamily projects
- Willingness to travel as business requires
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong leadership presence and professional communication skills
- High standards for safety, quality, and performance
