Superintendent - Multifamily Construction
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead & Manage Field Operations
- Support and guide field leaders including Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and Foremen to ensure success
- Cook up weekly labor assignments with Project Managers to align manpower with project needs
- Oversee company tools, equipment, and maintain production standards for efficient, quality work
- Promote a safe work environment by enforcing company policies and OSHA standards
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee equipment inspections and safety training for crews
- Deliver Quality & Service
- Uphold project standards and best practices for installation and subcontractor compliance
- Lead with professionalism to ensure positive experiences for clients, inspectors, and partners
- Communicate regularly with Estimating and Project teams about progress and budget
- Mentor & Develop Teams
- Lead training for Superintendents, Foremen, and crews across various trades and safety
- Coach field leaders to build accountable, capable teams and support career growth
- Collaborate & Communicate
- Partner with Project Managers to align schedules, budgets, and goals
- Act as the primary on-site leader for subcontractors, vendors, and crews
- Keep stakeholders informed on progress, manpower, and challenges
- Resource Planning & Problem Solving
- Anticipate manpower needs and balance workloads across projects
- Quickly resolve site issues to minimize delays
- Focus on solutions that support immediate needs and long-term goals
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years leading job sites as a Superintendent, managing multiple leaders and coordinating diverse subcontractor teams
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, production standards, safety, and material management including take-offs, shop drawings, and submittals
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to motivate teams and represent the company professionally
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OSHA 30 certification
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Additional certifications such as LEED, NCCER, First Aid/CPR, etc.
Physical Requirements
This is primarily a field-based role on active construction sites, with some office responsibilities. This position will require frequent walking, standing, and computer use. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
Travel
Regular travel to project sites within the region.
Pay
The base salary for this position in the Los Angeles area is $160,000 - $185,000.
