About the role
This is a General Construction (GC) position with a strong pipeline and proven promotion path. The environment is family-oriented and offers competitive pay and bonus structures.
Responsibilities
- Knowing contract documents for proper planning of construction staffing, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination
- Coordinating with Pre-construction Services to prepare estimates, buyouts regarding methods, systems, schedule, and general conditions
- Making and executing pre-planning activities for projects with subcontractors to ensure coordinated efforts
- Coordinating subcontractors, architects, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve issues regarding methods or materials
- Inspecting ongoing work to ensure compliance with specifications and adherence to construction schedules
- Documenting on-site activities in daily reports, including verbal directives, progress pictures, delays, weather conditions, and on-site manpower
- Creating and updating a detailed construction phase schedule for the project, ensuring critical path activities and milestones are met
- Developing a recovery plan to mitigate delays to the critical path of the project
- Maintaining effective and professional relationships with the owner, architects, consulting engineers, and other project stakeholders
- Assisting in monitoring and planning the quality control program
- Ensuring a safe work environment, culture, and practices on the project
Requirements
- Ground-up experience in multifamily construction (podium or stick-frame)
- Strong mentoring and teaching skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, motivational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize, provide training to enhance team, evaluate staff strengths and weaknesses, and be an organized and disciplined thinker
- Strong computer aptitude and mathematical background
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in multifamily construction (podium or stick-frame)
Skills
- Knowledge of contract documents
- Ability to coordinate with Pre-construction Services
- Experience in creating and executing pre-planning activities
- Proficiency in resolving issues with subcontractors, architects, inspectors, and suppliers
- Ability to document on-site activities
