About the role
The Superintendent is responsible for leading the day-to-day field execution of mission-critical and commercial construction projects while ensuring safe, high-quality, and schedule-driven project delivery. This role serves as the primary field leader, coordinating subcontractors, field supervision, craft personnel, vendors, and project teams throughout all phases of construction.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all preconstruction meetings with Project Managers, Foremen, Operations Leadership, and project teams.
- Review site logistics, constructability, access, safety requirements, and existing conditions prior to mobilization.
- Coverge with general contractors, owners, design teams, subcontractors, commissioning partners, and other trades to support project execution.
- Support development and implementation of Project Delivery Plans (PDPs).
- Coordinate initial material procurement and field logistics.
- Lead day-to-day field execution of assigned mission-critical construction projects.
- Monitor production, manpower, schedule performance, quality, safety, and field productivity.
- Implement and maintain QA/QC programs throughout project execution.
- Ensure accurate field documentation including RFIs, daily reports, inspections, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
- Lead project reviews and lessons learned activities.
Requirements
- 8+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience.
- Experience leading large commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical construction projects including a strong understanding of CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) and MEP coordination.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics planning, procurement, and field operations.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience implementing QA/QC programs.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling and critical-path management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud/PlanGrid, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, or similar construction software.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting commissioning and project turnover.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification.
- Experience leading projects exceeding $25M.
