We prioritize strong, collaborative relationships built on trust and respect. This position leads all on-site construction activities to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage all field activities for small and medium-sized projects of normal complexity.
- Ensure proper performance of subcontractors in quality and timeliness.
- Coordinate duties with the Project Manager.
- Perform project start-up and close-out activities.
- Maintain and organize all project contract documents.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing the project construction schedule with subcontractor input.
- Manage the schedule to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager.
- Co-conduct subcontractor pre-construction and coordination meetings with the Project Manager.
- Prepare and distribute project administrative documents (e.g., daily reports, 3-week look-ahead schedules, incident reports, safety inspection reports, material delivery tickets).
- Drive schedules and understand construction layout.
- Resolve on-site project-specific issues in conjunction with the Project Manager and escalate as needed.
- Implement and enforce Hourigan’s on-site Quality Control, Safety, and emergency procedures.
- Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, and applying safety training.
- Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes.
Requirements
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5-7 years of experience, preferably in general contracting.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead a job-site team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with construction management software (Procore and Bluebeam preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, LEED certifications, and industry practices.
- High level of integrity, fairness, and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to travel periodically.
