Superintendent, Mission Critical

We prioritize strong, collaborative relationships built on trust and respect. This position leads all on-site construction activities to ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage all field activities for small and medium-sized projects of normal complexity.
• Ensure proper performance of subcontractors in quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate duties with the Project Manager.
• Perform project start-up and close-out activities.
• Maintain and organize all project contract documents.
• Assist the Project Manager in preparing the project construction schedule with subcontractor input.
• Manage the schedule to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager.
• Co-conduct subcontractor pre-construction and coordination meetings with the Project Manager.
• Prepare and distribute project administrative documents (e.g., daily reports, 3-week look-ahead schedules, incident reports, safety inspection reports, material delivery tickets).
• Drive schedules and understand construction layout.
• Resolve on-site project-specific issues in conjunction with the Project Manager and escalate as needed.
• Implement and enforce Hourigan’s on-site Quality Control, Safety, and emergency procedures.
• Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, and applying safety training.
• Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes.

Requirements

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5-7 years of experience, preferably in general contracting.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead a job-site team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with construction management software (Procore and Bluebeam preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, LEED certifications, and industry practices.
• High level of integrity, fairness, and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to travel periodically.
