Our client, one of Massachusetts’s top 5 Life Science and Interiors general contractors, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Superintendent to oversee construction projects focusing on interiors, labs, and data centers across MA, NH, and ME.
About the role
As Superintendent, you will ensure the successful execution of projects by managing on-site activities, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining a commitment to quality and safety. This position requires frequent travel and extended stays at project sites for the duration of each project.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day on-site operations for construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with project specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee clean-room construction, ensuring compliance with all regulations, specifications, and security, accessibility, and environmental standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data-center construction, including knowledge of specialized equipment, systems, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective implementation of data-center projects.
- Uphold and enforce high-quality standards and safety protocols throughout the construction process.
- Maintain open communication with project stakeholders—clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Provide regular updates to the project management team on project status, challenges, and solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in construction, with a focus on federal projects and data centers.
- Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
- Knowledge of federal construction regulations and data-center construction best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, and others are highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
- Proven ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
